Tour Overview

An isolated lake subject to intense evaporation during the dry season, Lake Manyara is a slightly salty lake that is home to hippopotamus, flamingoes, and a large variety of aquatic life. Despite its salt content, it is safe for animals to drink and is a popular watering hole for the park’s animal population. During the wet season, Lake Manyara swells to a sizable body of water perfect for guided canoe safaris. During the dry season, it can shrink to such a small size that it is almost possible to walk across it. When water is present, it is possible to see klipspringer, rock hyrax, and porcupines by the lake’s edge, and a wide variety of birds including Ruppel’s Griffon, Verreaux’s Eagle, the Augur Buzzard, the Peregrine Falcon, and an abundance of flamingoes call the lake home during the year.

Itinerary

In the early morning, you will be picked from your hotel in Arusha and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park. The park embraces the northwest bank and part of the alkaline Lake Manyara which itself rests in the Great Rift Valley. The park is best known for its flamingos, pelicans and cormorants but it is also the home for a hundred-other migratory and none-migratory bird species; it is therefore a paradise for ornithologists. Next to a great variety of birds, the “Big Game” can also be seen. With a bit of luck, you might see elephants in the wooded regions and with even more fortune the tree-climbing lions.

Undeniably, it was thought for a long time that the Lake Manyara National Park is the only place where lions can be found with this peculiar behaviour of climbing trees. Baboons and vervet monkeys are also found amongst the forested areas and in the more open spaces, giraffes snack at the fresh leaves while the various types of antelopes common to the region browse for tasty shoots. After a picnic lunch, there will be more time for further game and wildlife watching before it is time to return to Arusha.

The tours are scheduled to start in Moshi, departing on Daily basis. However, circumstances like clients’ arrival time, activities to be done and client’s preference could affect the program. Our company is flexible for such arrangements and adjustments. Normally the program starts around 7:30 AM

The tours are scheduled to End in Moshi. You may also wish to be dropped outside Moshi at an extra cost depending on the place of drop off. However, our travel specialists will need to know your specific drop-off point prior to the hike to get aligned with the program

Yes of course, We arrange for accommodation when requested by our clients at an extra cost depending with the accommodation level they will prefer to stay in. Normally, the drafted itineraries have excluded the accommodations before and after safari because not all clients will wish to stay in our specific accommodation choices. For any accommodation bookings, remember to give us prior information of the comfort level you would prefer and we shall advice which hotels will suit you best before we get all confirmations on program.

My wife and I did the seven day Machame route with Topi Adventure - we could not be happier with our choice!  Verified World-class Kili climb and the best deal possible
Embarked in the 6-day trip up the Marangu route to Uhuru peak. Topi Adventures were extremely helpful in sorting accommodation and travel whilst I was in Kilimanjaro. Emanuel, the owner, was very pleasant, as were all the porters and guides. My guide John was the true star, however. The pace set was perfect, and his knowledge of the nature surrounding us was spectacular. All my needs were catered for, and I honestly felt I was better looked after than the other more established and well-known organisations also taking people up Kilimanjaro. Without question the best deal you can get when it comes to climbing Kili, but also a company which values porters and guides much better than mainstream and foreign companies. Topi Adventure is the best tour operator one can rely upon to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It's owner Emanuel is very polite, humble, well mannered and supportive person. All his crew members are very much experienced and well trained. They will leave no stone unturned to provide you with the best possible facilities and food up on the mountain. Each and every minute thing is very well taken care of by them and additionally, they also click beautiful pictures of you☺️. The guide, cook, porters, helpers everyone are well cultured and disciplined guys. You can blindly trust them on the mountain and they will not let you down. I personally liked the cook, Emanuel provided me with. Each and every meal prepared by him was absolutely mouthwatering and finger licking, which in return provided me with extra strength for my climb.
