Itinerary Overview:

Day 0: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your guide and fellow trekkers for a pre-trek briefing, equipment check, and last-minute preparations.

Day 1: Rongai Gate (2000m) – Simba Camp (2650m)
Depart from Moshi and drive to the Rongai Gate, where your trek begins. Hike through the pine forests as you gradually ascend to Simba Camp for your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Simba Camp (2650m) – Second Cave (3450m)
Continue your ascent as you trek through moorland, with stunning views of Kenya to the north. Arrive at Second Cave, where you’ll spend the night under the vast African sky.

Day 3: Second Cave (3450m) – Kikelewa Camp (3600m)
Today’s hike takes you deeper into the moorland, with a steep climb towards the Kikelewa Camp. This is an excellent acclimatization day, as you gain elevation gradually.

Day 4: Kikelewa Camp (3600m) – Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4330m)
Ascend towards Mawenzi Tarn, located beneath the towering spires of Mawenzi Peak. The dramatic landscape makes this one of the most scenic camps on the route.

Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4330m) – Kibo Hut (4700m)
Cross the lunar-like desert between Mawenzi and Kibo, known as “The Saddle.” Arrive at Kibo Hut in the afternoon, where you’ll rest and prepare for your summit attempt.

Day 6: Summit Day – Kibo Hut (4700m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Horombo Hut (3720m)
Begin your summit push around midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise. After taking in the breathtaking views from the highest point in Africa, descend to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.

Day 7: Horombo Hut (3720m) – Marangu Gate (1860m)
Complete your descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificates and celebrate your achievement before returning to Moshi.
